IN VAS
Value-added service (VAS) is a term commonly used in the telecommunications industry for the various services beyond the basic voice call services. Examples of value added services include voice mail, ring back tone, balance checks, top up, SMS voting, SMS lotteries, Online Storage, Music subscriptions, On-Demand Video subscriptions, Location based services, Mobile advertising, Mobile TV & OTT, Online Gaming, TV Shows and Movies, IM Services and many others.
In a rapidly evolving mobile communications market where ARPUs generated from voice services are declining due to saturation, commoditization and plummeting tariffs of voice services, telecom service providers are under tremendous pressure to offer quality services beyond basic voice in order to remain competitive in the market. As a result, a large number of mobile network operators are packaging a host of mobile value added services in their service offerings in order to drive more data usage and generate additional revenues. Operators need various kinds of value added services, which they have to change and update frequently.
Value-added services are provided either in-house by the mobile network operator themselves or by a third party value-added service provider (VASP), also known as a content provider (CP).
Avacend provides Intelligent Network Value Added Services (IN VAS) to telecom operators with expertise in various protocols (SMS, MMS, SMPP, TCP/IP, WAP), databases (MySQL, SQL, Oracle), networking devices (Switches, Routers, Firewalls) and integration protocols (SOAP, REST. JSON), etc.
